Since entering the Zambian music scene in 2006 with the release of Asembe Isebenza, Slapdee has grown into one of the country’s most recognised hip-hop artists.
Born Mwila Musonda, Slapdee built his reputation through a combination of rap, storytelling and a distinctly Zambian approach to hip-hop. His catalogue documents that journey, from his early days in the industry to becoming one of the major figures in modern Zambian music.
At the time this list was originally compiled, Slapdee’s album catalogue included:
- Asembe Isebenza
- So Che
- Black na White
- True Story
- The Business
- Black na White 2 (BW2)
- Mother Tongue
Each project represents a different stage in Slapdee’s career and the evolution of his sound. Albums such as Black na White and BW2 also became closely associated with the identity he built around XYZ Entertainment.
Slapdee is the founder of XYZ Entertainment, a Zambian record label that has played an important role in promoting local hip-hop and developing other artists.
